Packing Tips for portable storage units

DO’S AND DON’TS OF PACKING

• DO label the contents on the outside of every box.
• DO pack your boxes full. Put the largest/heaviest on the floor with the lighter ones on top.
• DO practice safe lifting techniques, such as bend at the knees.
• DO use our track system to minimize shifting of your belongings.
• DO use about 4 inches of crumpled paper at the bottom of fragile item boxes.

• DON’T overload boxes with heavy items such as books.
• DON’T use newspaper to wrap fine china or other items that can’t be cleaned. Newspaper ink smears easily.
• DON’T pack candles. They melt!
• DON’T forget to wrap fragile items such as glass and mirrors in blankets.
• DON’T attempt to move or reposition the Mobile Attic. Call your representative.
